What's the difference between C7 and C9 bulbs?

Both C7 and C9 bulbs are very popular in Holiday lighting. Though they are similar in appearance, there are a few key differences. The C7 bulbs are 2" in length, whereas the C9 bulbs range from 2 3/4" to 3" in length. Because the C9 are a little bigger, they usually have more diodes, which cause them to be brighter than the C7 bulbs.
